The appropriateness of a carefully selected portfolio of projects is what enables organizations to attain their strategic objectives. Yet, many organizations struggle with choosing the right mix of projects. Delayed schedules, overrun budgets, and resource shortages affect successful outcomes.
So, how are these projects selected and retained to begin with? Are the more successful portfolios those that were carefully determined by project selection techniques and modeling, or are they determined based on the executives’ intuition?
This presentation will provide surprising answers to these questions based on an original quantitative study that was the culmination of Dr. Greene-Blose’s dissertation work.
