Bill Dannenmaier is a trainer and consultant in project and risk management at BlackBox Partners. He has industry experience managing projects and programs in energy (upstream and downstream), telecommunications, Information Technology (IT), consulting, and the military.
Bill is the author of Inside the BlackBox: Project Management: Project Success Using the ISO 21502 Standard. It is the first book in English that explains how to perform the processes of the ISO 21502:2020 Project, Programme, and Portfolio Management – Guidance on Project Management standard and has recently been translated into Portuguese.
Bill has worked with clients to establish processes specific to their industry and corporate environment. Bill has designed and taught classes on five continents using the International Standards Organization (ISO), Project Management Institute (PMI), and Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) standards for projects and risk assessment. Bill contributed to PMBOK® Guide version 6 and speaks at PMI meetings, but he bases his classes on the standard appropriate to the customer. Bill is a member of the Project Management Training Alliance (PMTA), an association of project management trainers, and served on the PMTA board of directors.
Bill has an MBA from Cornell University, an MA from the College of William and Mary, and a BS from Austin Peay State University. Bill graduated from Officer Candidate School, Surface Warfare Officer Basic, and Main Propulsion Assistant schools in the U.S. Navy. Bill is certified as an administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) and a Project Management Professional (PMP®). BlackBox was a Registered Education Provider (REP) with the PMI until that program was discontinued in 2019. BlackBox maintains its status as a Certified Training Provider (CTP) by the PMTA.
